Sparkling cherry red, violet reflections
Intensely dark and florally scented. Violets, lilacs and pansies clearly steal the show from the berry fruit. After this bouquet, a multitude of red and dark fruits reveals itself. Sour and sweet cherries, blackberries, currants, cassis and blueberries. A fine, cool nuance stands behind this intensity and conveys elegance and stoniness. And that with all the warmth and still a stately 15.5 % Vol. Red pepper, rosehip and fruit tea provide a cosy feeling. "To lie in" is what the vernacular would say. Rosemary, black olives and pine needles make an ethereal and Mediterranean contribution.
On the palate, it is surprisingly cool, mineral and extremely present. It has all the power and exerts a lot of pressure on the palate. It is voluminous and carried by an alcoholic sweetness. Very high viscosity and densely woven. The tannin is tightly woven, but anything but coarse-grained. Almost melting, the tannin melts on the palate like chocolate. However, it stands sublime in the glass and bristles with elegance. The acidity sets in directly and pushes it forward. Again, a slight spiciness is perceptible. It fills the mouth to the brim. The depth of aroma stands on broad legs. At the same time, it seems warming and generous. But as soon as the acidity sets in again in the finish, it can again display minerality and elegance. Totally ambivalent and yet coherent.
