Terroir & Origin

The Pündericher Marienburg with its south to south-east exposure is one of the great vineyard sites of the Mosel. The dominant grey slate directly beneath the former monastery shapes the character of these wines profoundly. The vineyards replanted after the land consolidation of 1988 have now reached the ideal age to produce wines of impressive structure and minerality.

Grape Variety & Vinification

100% Riesling from old vines. Clemens Busch selects exclusively healthy, fully ripe grapes for his Grosses Gewächs. The moderate alcohol content of 12% vol. underscores the elegance and precision of the 2022 vintage.

The versatility of this GG shines with roasted beetroot with flower vinegar, chicken with bulgur, saffron and coriander or aged Comté with crispy farmhouse bread. The acidity structure pairs well with both earthy vegetable flavours and spiced poultry dishes.
