Wine information
The wine comes from vines planted in 10,000 metre density in the Climat Les Longerois in Marsannay. The 1.4 hectares for this wine extend over the centre of the slope and include both the Dessus des Longeroies with limestone soils and the Bas des Longeroies with red marl. After destemming, cool pre-fermentation and spontaneous fermentation, the wine was matured slowly on its fine lees for 16 months in 228-litre barriques with a new wood content of 20 to 30 %.
Color
Medium, slightly transparent garnet red colour
Nose
Give the wine air and time, and within hours it will develop from a rather lactic and reduced wine with mixed forest fruit and cassis yoghurt to a cru that smells of cherries, plums, herbs, some foliage and undergrowth.
Palate
The Pinot Noir is quite juicy on the palate. However, it is worth decanting before savouring. Then, the reductive, plummy aromas largely disappear in favour of cherries and wild berries. The fruit is juicy, the wine is bright and transparent with savoury, slightly tart, vegetal notes and a cool, acid-accentuated finish.
