Wine information
The wine comes from an unclassified monopole of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay between Corpeau and Puligny-Montrachet. After selective harvesting, the whole grapes were slowly pressed, then fermented with the vineyard's own yeasts in wooden cuves and aged for a year in Pièces and Tonneaux with a maximum new wood content of 15 %. The wine was bottled unfined, unfiltered and with minimal sulphur.
Color
Brilliant medium straw yellow
Nose
Monopollagen are above average often not classified and often offer more than one might expect. At the Burgundy blanc »Clos de la Perrière« it is like this. The Chardonnay smells complex and seductively citrusy with green, yellow and orange aspects. There is also a hint of green pineapple, lemon zest, some dried herbs and crushed lime as well as an elegant note of wood and hazelnuts.
Palate
On the palate, the Chardonnay is initially softer than the nose would suggest. Sensual and silky, the »Perrière« and yet fresh and lively with a clear minerality, a fine rocky spiciness and saltiness, but also with a little phenolic grip, some tobacco and a hint of extract sweetness. All this makes the Burgundy blanc in addition to the price to an extremely attractive wine.
