Wine information
The grapes for this wine come mainly from vineyards in Castiglione Falletto, Monforte d'Alba and La Morra, but also from other vineyards in the Langhe. The age of the vines is between 20 and 45 years. The grapes, harvested by hand at the end of September, were destemmed. After a short cool pre-fermentation, the maceration and also the malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel for a fortnight. Subsequently, the Barbera aged for around twelve months in large wooden barrels, barriques or stainless steel tanks, depending on the parcel, combined into a cuvée and bottled unfiltered and unadulterated.

Nose
Vietti's Barbera d'Alba "Trevigne offers Barbera-Hedonism in pure culture. It is an intense, still primary fruity wine with lots of blackberries and black cherries, some blueberry, violets, mint and also a little liquorice and clove. There is also a hint of wood and warm forest floor along with truffle. Wonderful!
Mouth
On the palate, the charm offensive continues seamlessly. The "Trevigne" offers a fine, not too strong, but just right concentration of fruit and spices, carried by a harmonious acidity and fine tannin. A fine hint of wood is also evident here, as well as the warm forest floor. This Barbera inspires with sheer joie de vivre, juicy fruit and just the right amount of engaging warmth.
