Nose
Aphros Ten 2020 is Atlantic, grassy and lean. It is reminiscent of North German salt marshes, fresh seaweed and sea spray. Quite puristic and restrained. Light and lean. The Vinho Verde region clearly shows that it does not have much in common sensory-wise with hot southern Europe. It seems stony and cool. Wild herbs, lime zest and juice are dominant. Nashi pear, green apple as well as some melon are in second place.
Palate
On the palate, it seamlessly follows the expectations gained. the green fruitiness with delicate herbal spice comes through clearly. With its delicate 10% alcohol by volume, lightness is encouraged. With plenty of draw and drinking flow, Aphros Ten is a thirst-quenching drink on warm and hot days. Full of finesse and esprit, this is a category of wine all its own. The finish is wonderfully biting and enhances the drinking flow. The aftertaste is long-lasting and repeats its described aromatics.
