Nose
At "And the Winner is ..." is a cuvée of the white and white-fermented red grapes Xarello, Macabeo, Perellada and Monastrell. Olfactorically, the fruit plays only a minor role in this wine. Fruity apple, a few red sourberries, green almonds and lime peel meet stone, tart herbal notes and dry earth here. The wine seems very clear and as acidic as a base wine for Cava production.
Palate
This impression becomes more precise on the palate, where the cuvée appears distinctly fresh and tart, but also gets a creamy texture the warmer the wine gets. Here, too, fruit only takes place on the edge and almond and floral aromas, medicinal herbal extracts as well as stony and earthy elements dominate with a spicy bitter note in the finish. This is also very clear here, carried by ripe acidity and ideally suited for slightly salty tapa variations.
