Nose
The nose of Hajszan Neumann's 2016 Zweigelt vom Nussberg flaunts rich ripe fruit and a deep reach into the spice box Black cherries and plums lead the way before blackberries, elderberries and dried fruit bridge to juniper berries, black pepper and kitchen herbs like thyme and rosemary.
Mouth
On the palate, after the fruit cascades, it is refreshingly lean with a vertical drinking draw. Controlled by its herbaceous side and the 18-month aging in predominantly used wood, it is juicy on the palate with refreshing freshness and delicate acidity. Its tart character is complemented by the transparent fruit, which remains nobly in the background. Supported by its extract and the maturation, its fine tannin framework accompanies it into the cool, fruity finish.
