Wine information
Most of the vineyards on the edge of the Haard in the transition from the Rhine plain to the Palatinate Forest are oriented to the east. However, the Siebeldinger vineyard of the same name in the Queich valley is in the sunshine; because it is exposed to the south. The vineyard is situated at 160 to 250 meters and has a slope of 5 to 20 %. The up to 40 years old Pinot Blanc stands, southwest oriented, on shell limestone soil from the Triassic. The wine was aged in stainless steel after slow pressing and spontaneous fermentation.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
This finely fruity "Großes Gewächs" from the »Im Sonnenschein vineyard starts with a white floral scent that is somewhat reminiscent of acacia and orange blossom. But the floral is quickly pushed aside by ripe green and yellow pear and apple fruit, a little mirabelle and an underlying smoky and spicy note.
Mouth
On the palate, the ripeness of the Pinot Blanc grapes is again evident in the opulence and fruit sweetness, but at the same time, the clear acidity and the impressive minerality and saltiness that this Große Gewächs carries. Creamy, concentrated and elegant, the wine flows down the throat. There it remains impressively long with all its juiciness and white fruit, with chalky notes and spice.
