  • 🎨 Color: As the text does not provide any specific information about the colour of the wines, one can only speculate that the red wines from Burgundy are deep and intensely coloured, while the white wines from Alsace could be light and bright.
  • 👃 Aroma: Although no direct notes are mentioned, one might expect typical flavours for the regions: red and dark fruits for the Burgundy wines and floral-fruity notes for the Alsace wines.
  • 👅 Taste: The flavour of the wines is not described, but it can be assumed that the red wines from Burgundy have a complex structure, while the white wines from Alsace are fresh and aromatic.
  • 🎭 Character: Wine production is based on an almost philosophical approach with a respectful approach to nature and the grapes, which are accompanied but never forced.
  • 🍽️ Food recommendations: There are no direct recommendations, but typically the red wines from Burgundy would pair well with savoury meats, while the white wines from Alsace could be excellent with fish and seafood or traditional Alsatian cuisine.
  • Special features: Biodynamically managed wineries in two of France's defining wine regions, linked not only by their origins but also by their winemaking philosophy.

Jean-Louis Trapet in Gevrey-Chambertin and his wife Andrée Trapet in Riquewihr are leading a double vinicultural life with two exemplary biodynamic wineries, a red one in Burgundy and a white one in Alsace. Both share an almost philosophical approach to being a winemaker "From the first buds to the harvest, the grapes are accompanied but never forced." Andrée's credo is "Man or the winemaker comes and goes. What remains is the soil! We just pass by!" You can hear how connected she is to her Alsatian homeland. That's why she couldn't be dissuaded from continuing her parents' winery in Alsace. So, she is commuting between Gevrey and Riquewihr and is making sure that excellent wines are produced under the Trapet name in Alsace, too.
