Detailed information about the wine:
Pure expression of Syrah planted with care from the core of the vineyard, which is located in the rocky vicinity of the lake in Riparbella.
About the winemaking:
The maceration and subsequent fermentation of 15-18 months takes place in French oak barrels and barriques, offers the Suissassi a unique texture and complexity. It is important to note that the production of this wine has not been affected by fining or filtration.
Dark and delicate cherry red runs through this work of art, its black core shimmering to the violet reflections at the rim.
The Suisassi of the Year 2015 is full-bodied on the nose, dominated by intense wood and dense cassis fruit, hints of cassis liqueur, elderberry juice and blueberry compote. The fruit intensity is accompanied by balsamic herbs that evoke images of sage, rosemary, thyme and eucalyptus. Tobacco and leather notes mingle with the scent of smoked meat and charcoal, a result of its characteristic ageing.
On the palate, the 2015 Suisassi impresses with fruitiness and richness, succeeding in Luca d'Attoma's quest to perfect his wine style. Silky elegance meets playful dynamism, and together with the juicy fruit, each sip creates a desire for the next. Match it with strong, earthy-inspired dishes.
Modified food recommendations:
Enjoy it alongside a crispy puff pastry filled with roasted root vegetables and mushrooms, garnished with a beetroot sauce. Or try a ragout of pheasant with giblets, accompanied by a roulade of green cabbage stuffed with liver and napkin dumplings. In addition, medallions of venison loin with blueberries and a cognac-chocolate sauce go excellently with this wine.
