Color
The wine presents itself in bright white gold with silvery reflections clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
Classic. Independent. Tement.
Sparse and lovingly hiding the fruit, this Sauvignon Blanc from its cradle in southern Styria shows its vegetal side - but without having unripe notes in its luggage. Fine aromas of freshly cut grass and sweet clover, as well as lemon verbena and Greek mountain tea show themselves clearly, without being obtrusive. Even subtle nutty notes of nutmeg and green almond emerge before the shy fruity components of the wine, such as green gooseberry and kiwi.
Palate
The 2019 "Kalk & Kreide" Südsteiermark DAC Sauvignon Blanc from the Tement family also relies on puristic restraint on the palate. Instead of fruit extraction through cold-controlled fermentation and the resulting kitsch, the Sauvignon Blanc vine is used here as a vehicle to project the wine's origins into the bottle. Its lean, stocky body is refreshed by spirited lively acidity and reverberates as sparsely as the wine already suggested with its first aroma.
