Description
After spontaneous fermentation and maturation in large wooden barrels, the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc from Sulzfeld shines in a brilliant, light golden yellow with striking green nuances.
Aroma
This exquisite drop presents itself nobly and filigree, igniting a delicately fragrant bouquet reminiscent of grapefruit, lime, passion fruit and ginger. Subtle aromas of wild herbs, wild raspberry and a hint of cassis are added, which will become more pronounced as the wine matures.
Taste
The first sip reveals an echo of exotic fruitiness, skilfully combined with herbal notes. A playful and well-integrated acidity rounds off the fruit profile. Mineral hints lend the aftertaste a stimulatingly invigorating quality.
Food combination
A wild herb salad with fresh strawberries and green asparagus provides a harmonious pairing of flavours. Crispy mango prawn roulade on a bed of carrot and coriander vegetables provides another excellent accompaniment. A braised curry chicken with Thai basil and lemongrass ideally complements this refreshing taste experience. Alternatively, the wine harmonises perfectly with creamy risotto with spring vegetables or grilled white fish with lemon herb butter.
