Konstantin Weiser and his partner Alexandra Künstler have been making steep-slope wines since 2005. It all began with a small plot in the Ellergrub, which they initially developed with Daniel Vollenweider until the current winery was found in 2008. The pure Riesling winery initially produced exclusively residually sweet wines. Today, the 4.2 hectares of production are divided into dry and residually sweet, with most of the wines being vinified semi-dry and coming exclusively from the Ellergub. The concise phenolic is a guiding theme of Weiser-Künstler's wines, which are always contoured by noble bitters in addition to their concise acidity.
Color
Brilliant straw yellow with bright reflections.
Nose
On the nose, the 2020 Riesling Sekt Brut Nature from Weiser-Künstler is squeaky-clean and, at first sniff, reminiscent of a warm wake-up call with lemon sugar icing. After this cascade, things immediately get serious and spicy accents and a clear slate note follow, grounding it in a calm balance.
Mouth
On the palate, it is juicy with a fine mousseux, striking slate notes and a dust-dry finish. The ripe fruit is restrained by the delicate perlage and oscillates between fine spice, saline and fruity notes, which increasingly develop with more air in the glass. Despite its slender 11.5%, this Brut Nature appears open-hearted and generous. Supported by the animating acidity, it flows over the palate of the inclined taster with a creamy melt and masters both the aperitif situation as well as the entertainment of fine canapés and light meals.
