Color
This 2020 Riesling Schlossberg is characterised by its bright golden yellow colour with faint green reflections.
Scent
Although the wine initially appears reserved due to its young age, the distinctive, precise minerality can be perceived. It shows its full splendour after a short time in the carafe, when it unfolds notes of apple, lemon, peach, lime and mango, accompanied by ginger, lemongrass and aniseed. At the end, one can sense fine smoky nuances and dried oyster shell. A real jewel in its raw form!
Taste
The concise acidity, typical of Rieslings grown on granite, unfolds wonderfully on the tongue. It is accompanied by a salty minerality and a fine fruit sweetness. This is a wine that highlights the terroir of Alsace, with its rich, long and powerful, yet elegant taste. It has great potential for ageing and is an extremely charming accompaniment to a meal. Should you decide to enjoy it now, it is recommended to decant it with sufficient lead time.
Alternative food recommendations
A creamy carrot puree with a hint of lemon and coriander, and ricotta tartlets. For a second course, you could serve grilled lobster with peach and fennel salad. For the main course, chicken in grape and white wine sauce with wild rice would go very well.
