Wine information
Olivier Humbrecht presents us with a distinctive wine born from the gravelly and silty soils of the Turckheim alluvial valley. Despite its flat vineyard, the wine benefits from an impressive intensity of sunshine, especially in the late afternoon, before the shadows of the Vosges reach it. The drainage of the soil is effective, which helps to make it quite dry.

Processing data
The wine tends to have a lower yield, which often gives it a deep intensity and aromatic expression, as well as a pronounced ripeness. The 2021 vintage fermented for over a year until it became dry. High acidity levels characterise this vintage, resulting in an almost chalky mouthfeel.

Color
A radiant and intense golden yellow.

Fragrance character
The 2021 Riesling Roche Roulée surprises with a prominent minerality and a stony character scent. Due to its youthful nature, it appears compact and a little reserved. After decanting into the carafe, it reveals aromas of apricots, oranges and orange peel, candied ginger and mango, with lingering scents of honey, vanilla and dry biscuits, in addition to the interesting flinty notes. These flavours seem to be just waiting to intensify over the coming years, revealing a complex and brilliant range.

Taste
It attacks the palate with acidity that almost seems to explode, perfectly embedded in a melting of yellow and exotic fruits. A salty minerality conquers the palate, while its complex freshness and fine tannin structure give it impressive length and depth. It is recommended to decant this wine and serve it not too cold in a generous glass.

Food recommendations
Pair this wine with sweet potato gnocchi accompanied by a lemon sauce and rosemary, or with grilled scampi served with a tasty tomato bouillabaisse, roille sauce and crostini. Another delicate option would be a veal loin cooked in basil and pink grapefruit sauce, served with crispy carrots.
