Wine profile
This sublime Riesling, Großes Gewächs is a product of the stunning Marienburg vineyard in Pünderich, characterised by its unique grey, blue and red slate core. From this special grey slate, vines around 40 years old mature, from which the enchanted grapes are carefully selected and slowly pressed. After a spontaneous fermentation, sedimentation takes place for clarification. With no other additions except minimal sulphur, the wine matures on its full lees in Moselaner Fuder barrels with a capacity of 1,000 litres to preserve its unique character.
Visual impression
The colour is reminiscent of a rich straw yellow.
Aroma profile
This vintage of Marienburg Riesling may seem a little reserved at first. But no doubt, don't be fooled - it is a radiant Großes Gewächs that captivates with its fine profiling. One discovers notes of herbs, limequats, crisp green apples, a hint of fennel leaf, aniseed and mint. All this combines harmoniously with spicy elements of a petrichor effect and a hint of slate.
Taste profile
The first sip reveals the full fruit juice of lemons, crisp apples and pears, complemented by a hint of gooseberries and reindeklodes, infused with an intense energy. Don't almond yourself - it's a quiet wine that impresses deeply with its gentle smoky slate notes, mineral core and prancing acidity. An undeniable beauty!
Meal recommendations
Indulge your palate with smoked salmon served with apple chutney on a bed of quinoa. Try roasted sea bass accompanied by baked quince and a creamy nutmeg sauce. Or for vegetarians, try a mushroom pie, classically served with artichoke dip.
