Color
Bright straw yellow with brilliant reflections.
Nose
Superficially, the wine initially seems lush marshmallows, buttered popcorn and lemon zest promise a creamy Riesling treat. Supported by Tahitian vanilla and wet stones, more air reveals ethereal notes of lemon thyme, rosemary and rocket, garnished with a flourish of fully ripe peaches and apricots.
Mouth
Expressive and profound, it shows sparse yet skeletal with ripe acidity. Citrusy with firm pressure and creamy melting on the midpalate, the 2015 Marienburg Fahrlay Reserve from Clemens Busch is in calm flow, with enormous length and flanking phenolics in the stony cool finish. The large glasses as well as timely caraffing are means to an end here.
