About the wine
The fruit comes from the Loiserberg in Langenlois. The soils of the steep terraces, which reach up to 380 metres, are characterised by low loess layers and marble in places, but above all by rocky brown earth over siliceous crystalline rocks such as paragneiss, mica slate and amphibolite. After the selective hand harvest in 20-kilo crates at the beginning of October 2018, the Riesling was fermented spontaneously in stainless steel for four to six weeks at 20 to 22 °C after standing for twelve hours. The wine was aged in steel tanks on the full lees for four months and on the fine lees for another four months.
Color
light golden yellow with green reflexes
Nose
Wonderfully delicate and fine opens the Reed Loiserberg Riesling and opens a round dance with white flowers of chamomile and orange. In addition, there is a not too sweet lemon sorbet, a little pear and stone fruit such as vineyard peach and Reineclaude. In the background a lime and a bergamot emerge with a little air, which then become more and more dominant.
Mouth
On the palate, the Riesling is clear and pure with a wonderful melt, quite a lot of pressure and an inspiring spiciness. The acidity is lively and runs out dead straight. The Ried Loiserberg Riesling has a fine texture that combines with the tart spice of lemon zest, stone and herbs. A little salt emerges on the finish, some stone fruit and again the defining citrus aromatics. This is a wine that swings back and forth between soft mouthfeel and acid kick, silky texture and grip.
