Since 2004, the Nin-Ortiz family has been cultivating the Mas d'en Caçador vineyard, which is home to Garnacha and Cariñena vines that are up to a hundred years old. The concentration of this extremely dense wine can already be guessed at in the colour, it becomes even more obvious in the bouquet. It is already noticeable here how immensely mineral this wine is characterized. Clearly, the great orchestra of fruit and spice plays in the foreground. Sour cherries, black cherries, cassis, blueberries, blackberries and plums can be found, as well as laurel, liquorice, pepper and juniper. But it is this stony and very fresh note, which breaks its way through all the ripeness and impresses particularly.
Mouth:
On the palate, the depth and complexity that this cuvée delivers from the small and concentrated old berries becomes even clearer. The actually juicy and dark-fruited wine has a pleasantly tart note, the tannin shows itself youthfully impetuous and at the same time ripe. The wood is present, but remains discreetly in the background. However, it is precisely the mineral vibrant freshness that connects all the individual components, makes the wine appear buoyant despite its immense power and depth and gives it a cool draw - into the long, impressive finish. Please, decant hours in advance.
