Information
The Grüner Veltliner Federspiel comes from the Weingebirge. This is one of the oldest vineyard names in Europe, first mentioned in 511. The soils there are characterised by loam, loess and paragneiss. The wine was matured for half a year in large wood and bottled in April 2023. Besides 11.5 vol.-% alcohol, it has 5.4 grams of residual sugar and 5.6 grams of acidity.
Color
fresh straw yellow
Nose
The 2022s Federspiel Combines notes of yellow and crumbly apples with their peel with physalis, a little blond tobacco, fermented tea and some yeast dough. With air, dry herbs and notes of kumquats with zest mingle with the aromatics.
Palate
In this Federspiel already shows a lot of substance. The Grüner Veltliner offers a mouth-filling aromatic play of green and yellow stone fruit and lemons, in which salt and zest are just as present as a little tannin and extract. The texture of this Grüner Veltliner is stunningly elegant and silky. The acidity is ripe, lively and persistent. The Federspiel becomes increasingly salty and lively in the finish with very good length.
