Tasting note from from 07.06.2021, Copyright Sebastian Bordthäuser

The Pranzegg winery is named after the estate where Martin Gojer has been producing his wines since 2009 as a reflection of their origin, the vintage and the family's way of life. Above the Bolzano valley basin, Gojer's vineyards are farmed biodynamically by hand, and in the cellar, too, less is more Long fermentation and long maturation periods on full lees with the addition of only small amounts of sulphur characterise the wines, which are always bottled unfined and unfiltered.

The 2020 MIAU! is a speciality Instead of the Ancestrale method, this year it comes with a second fermentation on the bottle. The cuvée of 90% Lagrein and 10% Vernatsch proved to be extremely low in CO2 during the first quality controls, which is why Martin Gojer had all the bottles emptied without further ado and put them back into the bottles for a second fermentation with fresh must.

Color

Bright garnet red with silky opacity.

Nose

Joyfully fruity with a tendency to escalate, that's what the nose of the 2020 MIAU! Vino Frizzante from Pranzegg. Pomegranate, plums and rosehip mingle with red fruit tea and blueberries along with violet lilac. Light-footed and prancing, the nose already fires up the carefree lightness of being.

Mouth

Immediately at the first sip, the palate shines with a sparkling mousseux and is lined with fruity fullness. A vital and refreshing drink with a juicy character and an invigorating, fresh drinkability, flanked by fluffy tannins that contour it in a formidable way. The red fruits of the nose also play around on the palate and offer carefree drinking pleasure with an alarmingly short half-life.
