Wine information
The hand-picked grapes were pressed directly by hand. 10 % of the grapes were vinified in oak barrels, the rest was fermented and matured on the lees in concrete tanks. Only indigenous yeasts were used. The wine was bottled unfiltered and unfined.
Color
Golden yellow
Nose
The nose of this Chardonnay Réserve from Majas is certainly lush in the south, but also elegant. This is a spicy Chardonnay that combines ripe apple and pear fruit with slightly nutty notes. There is also apple tart, some menthol and a dollop of cream on the nose.
Palate
On the palate, the wine offers a certain firmness, phenolics and tannins. The fruit is juicy and ripe. There is sufficient structuring acidity, and the wine is leaner than the voluminous aroma would suggest.
Food recommendations by Christoph Raffelt

- Marrow bones with chorizo and chives
