Wine information
The champagne is 100 % Chardonnay from the 2015 vintage. The vineyards of Champagne Louise Brison are located at around 320 metres above sea level and are characterised by Kimmeridge limestone and marl with a layer of clay - similar to neighbouring Chablis. The base wines were fermented in barrique, the blend was brought together in stainless steel and drawn into the bottle in June 2016. Disgorgement took place with zero grams of dosage in spring 2023.
Color
Light straw yellow with lively perlage
Nose
With the 2015 Chardonnay de la Côte des Bar Delphine Brulez, Louise Brison's granddaughter, presents the flagship of the house. It is a remarkably uncompromising, clear and absolutely precise Chardonnay champagne from the Kimmerdige limestone, which already has the aroma of a Chablis cru with perlage. There are notes of salt lemons and yellow as well as green lemons with zests. Then crushed oyster shells and limestone come into play, as well as dried herbs, green apple peel and some celery green.
Palate
On the palate the 2015 Chardonnay de la Côte des Bar Cool and clear, powerful and absolutely precise. It is something like the epitome of a medium-ripe Chardonnay Champagne, which does not rely on autolysis notes, but on the expression of rock. The limestone shows itself here with its vital acidity, almost one-to-one. The result is a champagne full of pale yellow and green notes of citrus, iodine and rock, with a fascinatingly fine perlage and a lot of tension until the long finish.
