Color
Rich golden yellow with amber reflections.
Nose
The 2016 Le Mont Moelleux 1èr Trie shows a pithy presence on the palate. Nuts, Montelimar nougat and roasted almonds provide the spicy toasty notes, dried fruits such as pears, quinces and apricots provide rich fruit, a few reenklodes are also on board. Candied orange peel, dried figs and hazelnut brioche complete the enormously complex nose, which is in constant change.
Mouth
On the palate, the Le Mont Moelleux 1èr Trie is dense with high viscosity and great complexity. With candied fruit, raisins, dried figs and apple rings, the fruit seems to be at the forefront at the moment. The acidity is ripe, vibrant and of the finest structure, acting like a computer program in the background. The tannins equip it with everything it needs for longevity. With firm pressure on the palate, it has a fresh drinking draw and immense tension that carries it into the ambrosilae finish with epic resonance. This is one of the wines that established the worldwide reputation of the great, noble sweet Vouvrays.
