Nose
Like the dry Le Haut-Lieu is also the Le Haut-Lieu demi-sec an open, bright, fragrant wine whose aromas are reminiscent of nashi pear and flesh of yellow apples, flowers of acacia and oranges, and a little honey. But even with this honey and the foreshadowed sweetness, the wine has nothing heavy or lush, but seems prancing and light, but at the same time full of character and serious.
Palate
The palate shows that the 18 grams of sweetness are excellently buffered by the acidity. Despite the 13.5 % Alc. the wine seems almost as floating as a Kabinett, and that is fascinating. The Demi-sec is so juicy, so creamy and at the same time so elegant with finely chiselled acidity and a fresh minerality which, like all components in Huet's wines, is not at first noticeable as an individual component but only in the always coherent overall composition. Here, too, one is willing to keep pouring and quickly destroy any stock, even though the wine naturally has great future potential.
