Wine
Huet, Le Haut-Lieu demi-sec 2015, Vouvray
Color
lemon yellow with golden yellow reflexes
Nose
A bright, floral-scented attack combines with a little bread dough, whose notes then take a back seat to the lavish scent of apricot jam. The Haut-Lieu demi-sec clearly changes in the glass, - and that from minute to minute. Where one just had herbal spicy notes, a stronger curry spice emerges, where initially flowers dominated, suddenly a little brittle is found. However, the Haut-Lieu is always bright and fragrant.
Palate
On the palate, too, the Chenin from the "Le Haut-Lieu" vineyard stands for brightness, fragrance and playfulness. The wine fascinates on the palate with the juicy fruit of freshly sliced mirabelles and peaches, showing a fine sweetness that harmonizes with the acidity in such a balanced way that it is hardly noticeable. Like its dry counterpart from the same site, this Demi-sec is the brightest and most buoyant Chenin of all three sites by comparison. As with all Huets, a wonderfully fresh minerality resonates here, which, together with the openness that the Haut-Lieu shows from the start, can lead to increased consumption.
