Wine Description for Il Corzanello Bianco IGT 2024 by Corzano e Paterno

Colour & Appearance
Pale light yellow with silver reflections – a typical appearance for a cool-fermented Tuscan white wine with youthful freshness.
Nose
Here Tuscany reveals its most aromatic side: fruit-forward and lively, carried by green stone fruit and delicate citrus notes. What makes this wine unmistakable, however, is its herbaceous-spicy backbone – the Tuscan macchia makes itself known with hints of bay leaf and rosemary flowers. Despite the unusual blend of five grape varieties, the Corzanello remains distinctly terroir-driven.
Palate
Juicy and with creamy texture, this wine presents itself on the palate – a result of several months of fine lees ageing. The mild acidity and restrained fruit are flanked by a delicate dry character that gives the wine structure and drinking flow. Bone-dry on the finish, with a racy, herb-accented drinking experience. A crowd-pleaser with substance.
Finish
Medium-length, dry finish with fine herbal spice and a subtle bitter note reminiscent of almond skins. The freshness remains present right through to the end.
Grape Variety & Vinification
An ambitious blend of Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Sémillon, Trebbiano and Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes from the cooler vineyard sites are hand-harvested and gently whole-bunch pressed. Temperature-controlled fermentation at 15–18°C, followed by 4–5 months of fine lees ageing without malolactic fermentation – the recipe for freshness and creamy texture in equal measure. Bottled in March after harvest.
Food Pairing Suggestions
A versatile companion to Mediterranean cuisine: excellent with grilled fish, calamari fritti, courgette risotto or pasta with clams. Also an outstanding choice with goat’s cheese and light antipasti.
Special Features
An authentic blueprint for modern Tuscan white wine: terroir-driven, spicy and fresh, without international blandness. The unusual blend of varieties works together with remarkable harmony.
