Information about the wine

The fruit for this Grüner Veltliner comes from the Bruck and Schön sites. The vines stand on partly sandy, partly deep brown earth soils with a subsoil of orthogneiss and mica slate. The name reminds of the 2013 vintage, where the heat during the blooming period caused a large part of the Veltliner to trickle away, and Martin Muthenthaler assumed that he would practically not be able to harvest any grapes. In the end, however, there were still beautiful grapes - Vergelt's Gott. The wine was fermented spontaneously and vinified in steel tanks.

Color

Straw yellow with light green reflections

Nose

Fine and restrained, the Grüner Veltliner God's reward in the first moment. A scent of bright stone and pome fruit lies over the glass. In addition, a little smoke and tobacco, stone, dry earth and a spice reminiscent of curry.

Palate

On the palate, the wine seems creamy, even silky with its ripe but lively acidity. There is hardly any fruit, and if there is, then it is a little stone fruit in cream. Much more prominent are tart notes of citrus and stone combined with the aforementioned tobacco, with a bit of licorice and salt. In the final the Grüner Veltliner more and more crisp, mineral and energetic.
