Wine information
This is a white wine with long maceration. It is a cuvée of 40 % Grenache Blanc and 60 % Rolle . The Grenache comes from a vineyard where Flo Busch lost around 50 % of grapes to frost in 2020. The 3.5-hectare vineyard is planted with Grenache Noir and Grenache Blanc. The soil is characterised by limestone gravel and galets roulés, which are not quite as large as those in Châteauneuf, but have a high quartz content. The Rolle grapes come from an 80-year-old vineyard on high ground with limestone scree. The soil there is loose and permeable and had already been cultivated organically before the purchase. One third of the vineyard is planted with Rolle and two thirds with Syrah, which is used for the Pointe du Jour is used. After hand-picking, the grapes were crushed, the juice was left on the skins for around ten days and then pressed using a small basket press. The juice was fermented spontaneously in steel tanks and then matured for ten months in used French barriques. The wine was then bottled unfiltered and unfined with a small dose of sulphur.

Nose
The 2022he Pierre qui role offers a delicious interplay of yeast, caramel, ripe oranges and kumquats, peach halves tossed in butter and cool notes of herbs, stone and hops.
Palate
On the palate, despite the light caramel flavour, it is a very dry wine with a texture reminiscent of the surface of baked clay. There is also a lively, finely balanced acidity. The flavour is quite warm with ripe orange fruit, some liquorice and stone fruit. The wine itself is crystal clear, pleasantly firm and sensual.
