Info about the wine
Fosilni Breg Sauvignon Blanc from Domaine Ciringa first appeared on the market in 2009. The Ciringa vineyard was planted exclusively with Sauvignon Blanc after Slovenia joined the EU in 2003. The grapes grow on coral limestone and brown earth, the wine is aged in large, neutral oak barrels.
Color
Light golden yellow with clear green reflections.
Nose
The 2020 Fosilni Breg from Domaine Ciringa presents itself distinctive, mineral and with intense herbal spice. A truly puristic wine with a lot of depth and intensity. With sufficient oxygen, young mango, firm pineapple, distinct rosemary and nettle notes join in and combine with the aromatics so typical of Sauvignon Blanc, reminiscent of peppers and blackcurrant.
Palate
The tongue reveals intense and cool minerality and a powerful Sauvignon that brings a lot of finesse and play and can be perfectly combined with aromatic cuisine characterised by vegetables and herbs.
