Color
Ruby red, transparent, bright and clear.
Nose
Grown on poor soils of pure limestone, the 2014 Currá is open-hearted and accessible. Ethereal notes of Mediterranean herbs like thyme and rosemary open the overture on the nose, followed by small red cherries, fully ripe plums and floral aromas. A crescendo of white pepper and cool minerality on the finish release it into the fruity finish. Applause and off.
Mouth
The 2014 Currá is a classic Barbaresco with youthfully tart tannins and expansive fruit. With a lot of juice and melting, it captivates on the palate and is underlaid with aromas of bacon, laurel and juniper. Its transparent freshness and filigree acid structure accredit it to the perfect Barbaresco for the present consumption - or for the waiting period until the 2016s are ripe.
