Wine information
According to Athenaïs de Béru, "the ambition of this cuvée is to reflect as honestly as possible the own character of the wines produced on the hill of Béru". It is a cuvée from the various plots of the estate, whose common features are first and foremost the altitude, the northern location in the Chablis wine-growing region and the strong presence of Kimmeridge limestones in the soils. Mostly it is pre-harvest of the site wines. After hand harvesting, the grapes were gently pressed and spontaneously fermented. The «Terroirs de Béru» was matured in tanks and large wooden barrels with maturation on the fine lees. After maturation, the Chablis is bottled unfiltered and unfined with only a light addition of sulphur.
Color
light gold, slightly cloudy
Nose
At Terroirs de Béru Chablis 2019 there can't be much sulphur added. It just smells so good naturalhow Chablis This is enormously citrusy, has a lot of acidity, rock, petrichor, oyster shell, salt, as if you were standing directly on the Atlantic.
Palate
What the nose suggests continues on the palate in exactly the same way There is this Atlantic mixture with spray and breeze, salt lemon, zest, crushed stone, a little lanolin and a lot of pressure. But this is not a skeletal, lean wine. It has power and it also has a charming, slightly silky texture with all the fresh acidity and minerality. And it is so savoury and electrifying that you want to keep drinking it anyway.
