Color
Dark ruby red with violet reflections.
Nose
The 2017 Nussberg Zweigelt boasts deep dark fruit of elderberries, plums and blackberries and bridges the gap to the spice rack via plum jam. Juniper, black pepper and cardamom mingle with thyme and laurel, which give the dark-fruited wine its spicy touch.
Mouth
Contrary to the opulent nose, it is refreshingly lean on the palate with agile acidity and youthfully tart tannins. The juicy fruit seems increasingly transparent and delicate and is accelerated by the fine-grained tannins. The wood is perfectly integrated both haptically and aromatically and accompanies it into the long, fruity cool finish.
