The Roero region stretches northwest of Alba between the Tanaro River and the Piedmont Alps. Today, Luca Faccenda runs the family estate whose vineyards were planted by his father in the 1950s. The Arneis vines, some of which are over 60 years old, are planted on sandy soils interspersed with clay and loam. Luca ferments the grapes from the old vines spontaneously, whole and in large wood. The result is a full-bodied, silky Roero Arneis with overwhelming structure and length. The grapes for the "Arzigh" come from south-facing old vines. Luca ages it for two years in used Tonneaux's and bottles it unfiltered. The Nebbiolo is aged in concrete and large wood and matures for 14 months in 500-litre tonneaux. Luca Faccenda is a winemaker who has understood how to vinify uninhibited and clear natural wines that captivate with their drinking flow.
