Sauvignon Blanc Spätfüllung “Zeitspiel 4” 2017

The Time play 4 is a late filling that comes exclusively from Rieden in Ehrenhausen. In contrast to the Time Play 2 it is therefore not a Sauvignon Blanc from different soil compositions such as lime, sand, slate and opok, but one that comes exclusively from lime. It is therefore the advanced Time play, not the late filling of the Lime & Chalk but the late filling of the Coral lime Ehrenhausen. The wine was fermented spontaneously and bottled on 01.09.2021.

This wine already shows in its bouquet the potential of Tement's local wines. This is a late releasewhich makes a lot of sense, especially in 2017. 2017 was a very straighterThis is a pure, almost austere vintage, which gains in charm with maturity without sacrificing precision. On the contrary, a wine of great finesse has emerged here, which excellently presents the shell limestone terroir. Mint, cassis, nettle and tomato leaves combine with lime and limestone.

On the palate the Sauvignon blanc »Time play 4« punchy, with a slender body but clear muscles. Here, too, one has Muschelkalk Sauvignon pure and unadulterated but with the ripeness and slight creaminess of four years of maturity. The acidity is the focus here, together with the minerality. The result is a local wine that is both elegant and pleasantly demanding, with a salty base, a light tannic grip and a chalky texture that makes it easy to drink. So much drinking flow that you may be momentarily surprised at how quickly the bottle has emptied.
