Location and soil

Lieben Aich in Terlan, a south-western slope at 300 metres above sea level with a mild, breezy microclimate and water-permeable, sandy loam on porphyry weathered rock, the soil with the greatest mineral structure in the vineyard.

Expansion

The destemmed grape berries remained on the press for twelve hours for maceration to extract aroma and structure from the skins. Fermentation took place in wooden barrels, spontaneously with the grape's own yeasts. During the ten-month aging on the fine yeast, aroma and taste refined.

Color

Bright, sparkling golden yellow.

Nose

The 2021 Sauvignon Blanc Tannenberg smells intensely of grapefruit, elderflower and elderwood. With the necessary oxygen, exotic hints of mango, papaya and green gooseberry are added. The whole is accompanied by a penetrating minerality reminiscent of wet stone, giving it a certain coolness and pleasant roughness. Very beautiful, animating wine with brilliant freshness.

Palate

On the palate, it shows its mineral side, pleasantly dry, the stony aromas of the nose are intensely flavoured on the tongue. Its salty mineral character and stimulating acidity make it the perfect companion to fish, shellfish and white meat with rich sauces. The fine piquancy in the aftertaste is additionally stimulating, the bottle empties without effort, tipptopp!

At this stage, decant if possible and enjoy not too cold from a Burgundy glass.

  • Roulade of turbot, shellfish and leek on tarragon sauce
