Wine information
La Fleur au Verre is a Pinot Noir from a late-ripening terroir in the Côte Chalonnaise. The grapes were fermented spontaneously and quickly at 50 % centime on the must of white grapes for four to five days, then pressed and aged without further additions in old wood for six months.
Color
bright ruby red
Nose
The nose of the La Fleur au Verre Rouge Combines volatile acidity and slightly reductive notes with lots of juicy fruit of blood oranges, sour cherries and barberries and with a still youthful yeast, some lime and a light spiciness reminiscent of undergrowth.
Palate
On the palate, it is very clear that Julien Altaber has made this red wine similar to a white wine and has clearly put the freshness, the citrusy, lively acidity and juiciness in the foreground. Accordingly, there is tannin, but it lines the mouth rather gently. The juice, which is also reminiscent of blood oranges and sour cherries, characterises the wine, which presents itself openly and invitingly and just seems to call out "drink me!
