Overview of the wine
This exquisite Riesling comes from the most renowned areas of the Niersteiner Roter Hang, namely Ölberg, Hipping and Pettenthal.
Appearance
A brilliant golden yellow characterises this splendid specimen, while mild green reflections also brighten up the bright colour spectrum.
Bouquet
Initially, the 2020 Niersteiner Riesling needs some time to reveal its rich diversity. Its complex olfactory palette, which ranges from flint notes to peach to quince, orange, ginger and honeydew melon, unfolds after a short decant. Its still youthful vivacity is accompanied by a yeasty note, while the influence of the slate soli only becomes apparent after two days of disclosure. The enormous potential for maturity can already be perceived on the nose.
Pallet
The palate is spoiled by a harmonious blend of delicate fruit, a pleasant fruit sweetness and a ripe acidity. This lively and refined wine will delight every wine lover, as it is at the beginning of its optimal drinking maturity and already makes you look forward to what is to come. The dishes that accompany it are welcome to have fruity and slightly spicy elements.
Food suggestions
Fresh goat cheese on a sweet and sour carrot garnish with coriander serves as an ideal prelude. A light lemongrass soup with prawns and rice balls capitalises on the complexity of the Riesling. If you prefer something more hearty, try pairing it with strips of beef with ginger and rice noodles from the wok.
