Info about the wine
This beautiful property of almost 1.5 hectares, taken over by the winery in 2016, is located at the foot of the Roche de Vergisson. It faces north, on the sides of a very beautiful valley. The soil, clay and limestone, is ideal for Chardonnay. A very nice fresh terroir that produces wines with ageing potential.
Color
Bright, light golden yellow with silvery reflexes.
Nose
The 2019 Saint Véran Cuvée " La Combe des Roches" reveals an open nose reminiscent of pickled apples, stewed apples, peach jam and mirabelle plums. With a little oxygen contact, fresh herbs, tree blossoms and mushrooms join in, as well as freshly whipped butter and toasted almond flakes. After a longer opening a citric freshness joins in.
Palate
Lean and supple on the attack with plenty of fresh fruit infused with a mineral strand. The mid-palate is compact and fruity, fine and animating tannins stimulate the drinking flow and the appetite. Even though the wine has a very good ageing potential, the bottle will be empty faster than you can look.
Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.
