Wine information
The largest part of the vineyard is located in the Pündericher Marienburg site. This vineyard is located on the opposite bank of the river from Pünderich and faces south to southeast. The original area of Pündericher Marienburg, directly below the former Marienburg monastery, is dominated by grey slate. The vineyards were newly planted after a land consolidation around 1988, in the meantime they have already reached a good age, the wines present themselves more and more structured and mineral. Clemens Busch only uses healthy and highly ripe grapes for the "Große Gewächse".
Color
Sparkling golden yellow with green reflections.
Nose
The 2019 Marienburg Riesling Großes Gewächs smells of green apple, sweet citrus zest, peach, firm pineapple, white flowers and mango. The whole is underpinned by a distinctly cool and delicately smoky minerality.
Palate
On the palate, it presents itself fresh and extremely multifaceted. The complex acidity plays with the tongue, its fine fruit gives it improbable charm, each sip challenges its taster in a pleasant way and calls for the next. At the very beginning of its development, it promises us a fantastic potential and the patient connoisseur will be rewarded.
