Wine
Clemens Busch, Riesling Raffes 2013, Mosel
Wine information
From a small parcel with very old vines within the Falkenlay in the Marienburg in Pünderich. 15 grams of residual sugar.
Color
golden yellow
Nose
The 2013 Raffes smells ripe and intense. It opens with the scent of buttercups and some saffron, nectarines, peaches and oranges next to the typical spicy-herbal note of slate. The full aroma leaves no doubt that great things await you with the 2013 Raffes.
Palate
The Raffes always stands out strikingly from Clemens Busch's portfolio. It is fuller than the other wines, and so it shows itself very juicy, piquant and intense on the palate. The 15 grams of residual sugar - Raffes always has residual sugar - are hardly noticeable in combination with the striking acidity. Besides the rich fruit of stone fruits and oranges, a salty note marks the terroir-driven maturation. The 2013 Raffes is still in its infancy, but with what it already offers into the long, lively finish, it shows what great potential this wine has.
