Wine information
The Rossberg vineyard is the most south-westerly of the Tements' portfolio of sites. In itself, however, it faces south-southeast and is characterised by Opok, a solidified sedimentary rock typical of the area, with larger proportions of limestone marl, clay and siltstone. The vineyard lies at an altitude of 340 to 470 metres. The Morillon grown on it was fermented spontaneously to a residual sugar of 1.2 grams with 6.5 grams of acidity, then aged for twelve months in neutral barriques and another twelve months in steel tanks, each on the fine lees.

medium straw yellow with green reflections
Nose
Already in the nose, the Chardonnay from the Rossberg vineyard shows its charming, engaging and thoroughly elegant character. The Morillon seems almost silky soft with a rich, white-fleshed fruit reminiscent of vineyard peach, apples, but above all also of pure plums. With air, the flavors veer a bit into the yellow-fruited realm. Pears and quinces come to mind, accompanied by a hint of saffron and Montélimar nougat.
Palate
This silkiness is indeed also found on the palate. Here, a lot of elegance and finesse shows. Only at the middle palate a wave of ripe, but concise acidity suddenly appears, which plays around the creamy fruit and accompanies it with additional citric aromas. The Rossberg becomes more and more salty, the drinking flow increases, and herbs, crushed lime and some white pepper mix into the fruit.
