- Terroir & Origin
- Alta Alella cultivates vineyards in the coastal mountains north of Barcelona, where Mediterranean sea breezes meet granite-rich soils. The Alella region, one of Catalonia’s smallest D.O.s, benefits from proximity to the Mediterranean and cooling winds that ensure freshness and elegance even in warm vintages. The estate works biodynamically and is among the pioneers of sustainable viticulture in the region. The Xarel·lo vines root deeply in the sparse, mineral-rich subsoil – ideal conditions for a sparkling wine with tension and salinity.

- Xarel·lo is the backbone of great Cavas, an autochthonous variety with pronounced acidity structure and remarkably long ageing potential. Unlike the often softer Macabeo-dominated cuvées, single-varietal Xarel·lo brings herbal spice, citrus freshness and stony minerality. The Brut Nature style – without added dosage – demands perfectly ripe fruit and artisanal precision.
