Wine information
The Pinot Noir comes from the vineyard Maustal, a four-hectare vineyard south of Sulzfeld am Main, facing south and southeast. The steep slope is characterized by meager and skeleton-rich upper shell limestone. The vines on this site are the oldest vines that we have planted ourselves. As always at Weingut Zehnthof Luckert, the grapes are harvested by hand, followed by maceration in open fermenters, spontaneous fermentation, no chaptalization, and aging in Burgundy barrels.
Color
medium ruby-red
Nose
The Pinot Noir Maustal combines still undeveloped, slightly reductive notes with a rich and slightly sweet cassis fruit as well as red berries and a very fine wood. In the background there are notes of undergrowth and forest earth as well as stony, dark aspects.
Palate
The 2017 Pinot Noir opens on the palate with spicy, slightly spicy notes, with red berries and cherries. It is incredibly juicy, transparent and clear in its structure of fresh, well-integrated acidity, a present tannin that seems dominant at the first moment, but which gradually becomes finer and more elegant. In addition this Pinot Noir has a very appealing length and a remarkable finesse.
