Info about the situation
Tiny Clos directly at the city walls (remparts) of Sancerre. On just 0.14 hectares, rootless Sauvignon vines grow.
Color
Rich yellow with clear green reflections.
Nose
The 2016 "L'Enclos des Remparts" presents itself already in the nose with exuberant richness and beguiling fragrance. Papaya, green mango, lemons tossed in salt and wild herbs combine with stony compactness and cool minerality.
Palate
The fullness of fruit and the power of the nose are beautifully catapulted onto the tongue by the 2016 "L'Enclos des Remparts". Its juicy density interwoven with delicate honey notes and lots of melting is combined with a fine acidity and extremely stimulating structure. Its long finish is characterised by complexity and spiciness. Nothing for immediate enjoyment, but a treasure for every well-stocked wine cellar. The impatient drinker is advised to decant the wine with enough time in advance and not to enjoy it too cold from large glasses.
