Nose
The 2014 Gewurztraminer Roche Calcaire presents itself with fine spice, dried fruit, ginger and lemongrass on the attack. Delicate grapefruit notes, apricot, mango and apple skin join in with sufficient oxygen, which the wine absolutely demands. Intriguing hints of cedar and elegant smoky notes beautifully frame the olfactory picture.
Palate
On the tongue, the 2014 Gewurztraminer Roche Calcaire appears concise and it again directly stimulates the drinking flow with a fine spiciness. Its spiciness is accompanied by subtle citrus aromas and a fresh, citric acidity that gives it play and facet. Its chalky minerality is "nomen est omen" omnipresent. An incredibly fine Gewurztraminer of which one likes to drink one or two more glasses.
