Entre Palabras – Between Words 2017 – Valdemonjas

The Entre Palabras comes from the vineyard Pago de Valdemonjas. The Tempranillo grapes for the Between the words - were destemmed, spontaneously fermented and aged for 18 months in French and American barriques.

Nose

With the Entre Palabras the Moyanos and their advisor, Luca d'Attoma... Ribera del Duero full of dark fruit and elegance. The character of the Tempranillo is expressed in waves of sweet cherries and cinnamon cherries, wild berries and fleshy notes. What at the beginning is marked by the wood, changes significantly with air and becomes increasingly fresh and cool.

Palate

This transformation can also be traced on the palate. In the first moments, the palate combines with the Entre Palabras the rich berry and cherry notes with roasted coffee, dark chocolate, smoke and vanilla. Then the cool aspects become more and more dominant, fresh and clear the wine runs over the palate. The wood remains quite formative, but joins in. Crushed stone, cooling mint, a lively acidity and a fine energy permeate the Ribera del Duero and make it stand out from the crowd of highly concentrated wines of this region, even though density and power remain an essential characteristic. But this is typical Luca d'Attoma, who was able to reconcile all that.
