Wine Description for Cuvée Constance 2009 500ml by Huet

Colour & Appearance
Luminous, deeply coloured golden yellow with amber-tinted reflections – a visual promise of concentration and maturity, with the high viscosity already evident in the glass.
Nose
Surprisingly fresh and lively for a dessert wine of this category. Rather than the expected dried fruit aromatics, the 2009 Constance presents itself with youthful spirit: blackcurrants and redcurrants, plums, Japanese plum and blackberries dominate. On the top notes black tea, which lends elegant complexity to the bouquet. This red fruit and berry orientation is unusual and fascinating.
Palate
The attack reveals cassis bonbons, honeycomb and acacia blossom. Despite opulent extract sweetness and creamy texture, a finely woven acidity backbone maintains balance and imparts impressive freshness. The subtle dry phenolic character acts as a disciplining force, preventing any heaviness and ensuring a brisk, invigorating drinking experience – a rarity in dessert wines of this intensity.
Finish
Exceptionally long with a fine cassis note that lingers to the very end. Remarkable is the lightness with which this concentrated wine concludes – without heaviness, without stickiness, only pure elegance.
Terroir & Origin
Domaine Huet ranks among the legendary producers of the Loire and is considered the reference for Vouvray. Cuvée Constance is produced only in exceptional vintages from noble rot-affected grapes and represents the pinnacle of the house.
Grape Variety & Vinification
Pure Chenin Blanc from selectively harvested, botrytised grapes. With only 11.5% alcohol, this wine proves that greatness does not depend on alcohol content, but on precision and finesse.
Food Pairing Suggestions
Classically with fruit tarts and fruit-based desserts. Surprisingly harmonious with poultry liver or foie gras. The subtle dry structure also allows for daring combinations with venison or game dishes with root vegetables and cabbage preparations.
Special Features
A dessert wine that breaks all conventions: fresh rather than heavy, red fruited rather than oxidative, invigorating rather than meditative. The 500ml bottle underscores the special status of this extraordinary cuvée.
