Light straw yellow, light and green reflections
Nose
A Gutsriesling is the flagship of a winery and vintage. The 2022 example shows all the facets of a Cool Climate Riesling. Cool and taut with great finesse. The fruit alternates between yellow and green apples, fresh pear and a little lime and pineapple. Herbs and subtle vegetal nuances mingle again and again. A hint of coriander seeds adds some spice.
Palate
On the palate, it reflects exactly this. Typical for the region, but interpreted dry. A fine tannin structure gives it the gripping basic structure. It is reminiscent of the bite on red apple skin. The fruit underpins this in an excellent way. The acidity is pleasantly present without pushing itself to the fore. Above all, the vegetal nuances of fennel and artichoke characterise the finish, along with coriander.
Food recommendations from Marian Henß

- Swordfish tartare with pomegranate and coriander-lime vinaigrette
